Brooklyn, NY – A Brooklyn home was leveled Friday morning in what appears to be a gas explosion, authorities said.
There were no reported injuries, but firefighters were still sifting through the rubble hours later.
Police and more than 100 smoke eaters responded to a 7:15 a.m. 911 call about the blaze on Bay 35th St. near Benson Ave. in Bensonhurst.
One home was destroyed and another was damaged, officials said.
Residents had reported smelling gas overnight, they added.
