Joliet, IL – ABC7 -Joliet fire investigators search for clues into an explosion that sent the roof of a house flying into a neighboring home. Crews from several nearby departments joined Joliet firefighters in battling the blaze.
The house was apparently empty. Neighbors say the people who rented the destroyed home had moved out some time ago.
It’s believed the explosion was caused by natural gas. Fire investigators are now trying to find the exact source of the gas leak and what may have ignited the fumes.
No one was hurt in the explosion and fire but residents in the neighboring house had to be evacuated. Also, debris damaged part of their home.
